The buildings (temples, homes, schools) in Ancient Greece were very different from the buildings we have now. Unlike ours they were made of clay, mud, wood, and stone. The walls were made of mud and stone, and the roofs were made of clay and wood. And unlike us there were usually more then one family in the house. The houses were made 1 room at a time. But people spent more time building structures like temples than they did on their own home. People also put more effort into making the temples. The temples were made in honour of a single god. The houses in Ancient Greece most commonly had rooms, a mosaic floor, a kitchen, a men's dining room and a women's dining room (which they didn't always use, sometimes they would eat on the roof), an altar room (which will some times have a well in it), a veranda, a slave's courtiers, and a courtyard. Most Ancient Greek homes had 2 stories in it. But most people don't spend much time in their own home. Their windows had no glass in them and they all faced the courtyard. This means that the had to go outside to look out on the streets. As you can see most parts in the homes in Ancient Greece are different from what we have in our homes now.
