Olympics

The Ancient Greece Olympics took place in 700 B.C.E. How the Olympics started but they know that there were 4 events and a fastivel the day before the Olympics began. During the festivel, 100 oxen were sacrificed. The first event was a 180-240m race. The second event was a 400m lap around the stadiam. The third event 800m race, and the final event was the chariot race. Only free men (non slaves) may participate in these events. Now you can ask yourself the question "Have you gane to a festival simular to the ones in Ancient Greece?"

Ancient Greece Food

In Ancient Greece most people had to et grane products(bread), cheese and fruit(grapes, olives, figs, apples). Only rich people in Ancient Greece could aford to eat meats(lamb, goat, squid, sardines, small fish, octopie) or the people who were not rich would sometime have meat on special occasions. Most of the time people would drink water mixed with wine. Also people ate grane products (bread) which were most comonly eaten by farmer because they grow crops of fruit, vegitables, and as i said earlier grane. Slave would only get some bread to eat. So now why dont you try eating some of the thing they ate in Ancient Greece.

SPARTA!!!! (war,armour,age)

The Spartan Armour contained 2 components. The helmet (which contained many different sizes and shapes) and the currass(bronze, bell, muscled). Spartans also carried a shield, spear, and sword(which is rarely use). Some Spartans would carry bow and arrows. When escorting someone important the would surround them with shields raised from sides, font or back, and even above. Revolutions started after the war between all the cities of Ancient Greece causing a more disciplined military. People of other states and cities are part of the Sparta army. People defeated are made slave to work for the Spartan military school. Mothers of the warriors sent to war expected thier son to come home carrying their shield or be carried upon it, otherwise it was considered a disgrace to their family. At age of 20-60 men are forced to be part of the army. Before young men at the age of 7-19 would be in military school. At the age of twelve the strict rules would be even stricter.Stealing was encouraged. If they were caught stealing they where in trouble, not for stealing but for being caught. If someone got in a fight and complained about being hit, they were thrash by their father. As you can see, if you wanted to live in Ancient Greec you wouldn't want to live in Sparta.

Ancient Greece Shelter

The buildings (temples, homes, schools) in Ancient Greece were very different from the buildings we have now. Unlike ours they were made of clay, mud, wood, and stone. The walls were made of mud and stone, and the roofs were made of clay and wood. And unlike us there were usually more then one family in the house. The houses were made 1 room at a time. But people spent more time building structures like temples than they did on their own home. People also put more effort into making the temples. The temples were made in honour of a single god. The houses in Ancient Greece most commonly had rooms, a mosaic floor, a kitchen, a men's dining room and a women's dining room (which they didn't always use, sometimes they would eat on the roof), an altar room (which will some times have a well in it), a veranda, a slave's courtiers, and a courtyard. Most Ancient Greek homes had 2 stories in it. But most people don't spend much time in their own home. Their windows had no glass in them and they all faced the courtyard. This means that the had to go outside to look out on the streets. As you can see most parts in the homes in Ancient Greece are different from what we have in our homes now.
